ACCTA 2016

Welcome note from the conference chairs

Advances in Cement and Concrete Technology in Africa 2016

January 27th – 29th 2016, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The success of the first international conference ACCTA 2013, which took place in January 2013 at Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg, promoted a high impact to the African architectural, civil (structural and material engineering) society. At the same time the conference was a link between researchers and engineers worldwide. Experts and renowned keynote speakers from more than 40 countries came together to share their knowledge in cement and concrete technology and to provide ideas for the betterment of the product in its performance and durability.

The success and the positive feedback from the scientific community encouraged us to set up ACCTA as a permanent triennially conference. Henceforth, the second international conference will take place at White Sands Hotel Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on dates 27th – 29th January 2016. There will be a special focus discussion on "Binder Technologies" and on "Innovation, Standards, Product Safety and Quality Infrastructure".

ACCTA provides a platform to cross-link experts in the field of cement and concrete technology with key players from research institutions, industries, associations and policy-making bodies to establish business and research relations and opportunities in the African market for future collaborations. It provides a hub where young aspiring researchers can network with experienced scientists and researchers with the aim to establish a sustainable and economically efficient cement and concrete technology in Africa that impacts societies worldwide.
